【英語】かっこよくプレゼン（Introduction編）

今日は、英語プレゼンにおけるイントロの構築法、よく使う表現をまとめます。

以前に勤め先の英語の研修で習った内容を復習がてら整理しました。

オーソドックスな書き方を中心にまとめてますので、英語のプレゼンって何しゃべったいいねん！ってなるような初心者～中級者向けの内容です。

司会者(chairman)にお礼(紹介があった場合)

  • Thank you chairman.
  • Thank you for your nice introduction

みんなに挨拶+軽く自己紹介

  • Good morning (afternoon, evening), everyone (ladies and gentlemen).
  • I'm 名前, 職業など.(chairmanから紹介があった場合は、なくてもいい)

発表の機会に感謝（軽いプレゼンならなくてもいいかな）

以下3つすべて、「今日プレゼンできて、嬉しいです」って意味

  • I am pleased to be able to give this presentation today.
  • I am grateful for this opportunity to talk to you today.
  • It's a great pleasure to be able to speak to you today.

ここからIntroductionの骨子

introは以下4つの要素を順番に入れるように心がけてます。

Subject

主題。今から何について話すのか端的に表現。

  • I'll talk to you about [今日話すこと].
  • I would like to tell you about [今日話すこと].

Background

背景。なぜ、そのことについて話すのかを、今までの経緯を踏まえて伝える。

前提知識が必要な場合はここで説明する。

  • As you may know, 知っている方もいらっしゃるかと思いますが(大半がその分野に詳しいときに使える）

Importance

重要性。このプレゼンの目的は何かを話す。または、聞いている人にとって、このプレゼンを聞くことでどういうメリットがあるかを伝える。

  • The purpose of my presentation today is ~ (目的)
  • It is useful for ~ (～に役立つ)
  • It may be profitable used in ~ (～に価値がある)

Outline

アウトライン。大筋。プレゼンで説明する順番を伝える。

  • In my presentation today, I'll talk about the following things:
  • First,... Second,... Third,... Next,... Then,... Finally,...

例文

上記を踏まえて、食洗機(dishwasher)についてプレゼンしてみます。（どんなプレゼン、笑)

挨拶の例文

みんなー！来てくれてありがとー！！

Thank you Mr. Chairman. Good morning ladies and gentlemen. I'm Tokituku. I am pleased to be able to give this presentation today. 

Subjectの例文

これから食洗機についてしゃべるぜ！

I would like to tell you about dishwasher.

Backgroundの例文

お皿洗いってキツイよね！。Dishwasherなるものはそれを解決します！！（悪徳セールスみたい笑）

As you may know, washing dishes by hand is hard work.It takes a lot of time.

Dishwashers will solve these problems.

Dishwashers are machines for cleaning dishes automatically.

Recently, dishwashers had become commonplace in domestic residences. 

Importanceの例文

食洗機の導入を議論させてくれ。（食洗機ほしーです。）

The purpose of my presentation today is to discuss the introduction of the dishwashers.

Outlineの例文

説明する順番。1つ目は性能、2つ目は利益、3つ目はコスト。

最後に議論しましょうと念押し。イントロ終わればプレゼンが本格始動。

In my presentation today, first, I'll talk about the following things:

First, Performance of dishwashers will be discribed.

Second, I'll explain the benefit of dishwashers.

Then, I'll show the cost of dishwashers.

Finally, I'd like to discuss the introduction of dishwashers.

最後に

英語は苦手ですが、英語プレゼンはよく褒めていただきます。

英語が苦手なので、人より練習する（アドリブできないので、ほぼ丸暗記）のと、Q&A怖すぎて、できる限りわかりやすいプレゼンを目指してた結果ですかね。（笑）

一応、国際学会（小さいものでしたが）で、プレゼンして賞をいただいたこともあります。

 

イントロが決まると、結構その後も上手くいくので、頑張って練習しましょー。
